I'm thankful to be breaking bread with Ohilda this week!

Please be sure to leave a comment so YOU can be entered in the drawing to break bread with me next week.

Hooray! Ohilda has been with me from the very beginning, and this week I'll be breaking bread with her.

I have so many things to be thankful for this year. I thought I'd list a few:
*Decent health and good insurance for when it's not so decent
*Two children who bring me so much joy
* A job/career that I enjoy
*More later as the daughter is bringing me more joy than I can handle and post about at the same time...

Congratulations to Robin!

Robin, a very special lady in the process of adopting Mia Hope from China, is my guest of honor this week! Please visit her blog and read her touching story. I'm so glad we'll be breaking bread together. It's almost as if God chose her as my guest of the week to help focus our attention on Adoption Awareness month.

I'll be honest with you. I struggled yesterday. You see, I think I must be more Mary than Martha. And yesterday I WANTED to sit in on the service, but I was needed in the toddler room.

Normally, I would sit in on second service while my husband takes our daughter to visit her grandmother. Yesterday, however, we were celebrating my MIL's 80th birthday, and we had to leave right after 1st service. It didn't help my attitude one little bit that my son and husband said it was a really good service. And there was a really good skit. Even if I watch the service on line, I won't get the skit.

I really wish I had a willing servant's heart. I'd love for it to come naturally to me. It just doesn't always, though, so I struggle to do the right thing and pray that the right attitude somehow manifests itself in me. So, if you've read all the way through this and feel moved to do so, please pray that God will help me serve more joyfully and with less reluctance. Surely Jesus wasn't wearing a long face or dragging His feet when He served us.

Happy Monday, Everyone

Sherri is my guest of the week! Please leave a comment below to be entered in next week's drawing.

I'll add more later - just wanted to let everyone know who I'll be breaking bread with this week ASAP.

Updated:

Ahhh! The test! Thank God you were all praying for him! He said he barely passed. When asked why he thought that was, he answered, "I didn't study enough. I won't make that mistake again!" I let him know I had friends praying for him, and he said he was sure it helped. So, thank God and thank YOU for praying for him.

We had pot luck at church on Sunday, and it was so much fun. It was held outdoors, and while it was a little windy, a fantastic time was had by all. The church had rented one of those big, white tent/canopy things for the occasion, and the next morning when we went for my women's Bible study group, my daughter saw it and squealed, "I want to EAT, Mommy!" She's a sharp little cookie.

In addition to pot luck and communion, we did 2 new things during our service. We were encouraged to write down our problems or requests and leave them at the foot of the cross, and candles were provided for us to light as we said a prayer for someone. Really, it was one of the best services I've ever attended. I hope your Sunday was just as moving!

November

Hello and Happy November! It's been a spectacularly beautiful fall so far where I live, and I'm greatful not just for the beauty but the mild temperatures as well. I'm a little late in announcing the guest of the week, but as there were only 2 comments, I don't suppose there were too many people holding their breath ; )

I'm so fortunate to be breaking bread with Michelle again!

If you're following the blog, I have a few prayer requests: 1) my son has a very important test this week, please pray that he passes; 2)Please pray that whomever wins in the election will seek God's will in each matter of government.

Blessings to everyone!
