Congratulations to Robin!

Robin, a very special lady in the process of adopting Mia Hope from China, is my guest of honor this week! Please visit her blog and read her touching story. I'm so glad we'll be breaking bread together. It's almost as if God chose her as my guest of the week to help focus our attention on Adoption Awareness month.

I'll be honest with you. I struggled yesterday. You see, I think I must be more Mary than Martha. And yesterday I WANTED to sit in on the service, but I was needed in the toddler room.

Normally, I would sit in on second service while my husband takes our daughter to visit her grandmother. Yesterday, however, we were celebrating my MIL's 80th birthday, and we had to leave right after 1st service. It didn't help my attitude one little bit that my son and husband said it was a really good service. And there was a really good skit. Even if I watch the service on line, I won't get the skit.

I really wish I had a willing servant's heart. I'd love for it to come naturally to me. It just doesn't always, though, so I struggle to do the right thing and pray that the right attitude somehow manifests itself in me. So, if you've read all the way through this and feel moved to do so, please pray that God will help me serve more joyfully and with less reluctance. Surely Jesus wasn't wearing a long face or dragging His feet when He served us.

Cecelia, thanks so much for breaking bread with me last week. My hubby and I had a nice lunch out without the kids. You are so giving. Thanks again

Congratulations Robin!

Oh I know how you feel. I did this two weeks ago. I let the nursery worker go in and listen to her daughter sing with the praise team and I stayed in the nursery. I did really think...Oh man, I am missing some great worship. My heart was in the right place but I had a little attitude also.

Congratulations, Robin!

We all feel that way at times, Cecelia! Only you are brave enough to tell it!

Congrats Robin!

My sweet friend, you are NOT the only one struggling with having a servant's heart.

Scott told me (since he's been working late hours..PRAISE GOD!) I could take Saturday afternoon "off" and go to something by myself while he watched the kids at home. This afternoon, they called from church and asked if I was available to deliver Thanksgiving dinners to the needy on Saturday afternoon. UGH!!! Of course, I said I'd be there, but my heart wanted to be sitting at Barnes and Nobles with a caramel macchiato reading a book. Oh well. I know after the deliveries my heart will be soaring because He has allowed me to serve Him.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Hugs,

Ohilda
